Magnifying God: The Legacy of John Calvin in the 21st Century

On February 21 & 22, 2009, University Reformed Church in East Lansing, MI will be hosting a conference celebrating the legacy of John Calvin in the 21st Century. The conference, entitled, Magnifying God, will feature Collin Hansen as the keynote speaker. Hansen is an editor at large for Christianity Today, as well as the author of the book, Young, Restless, Reformed: A Journalist’s Journey with the New Calvinists, which was published in March, 2008. John Calvin’s worldview and theology continue to influence Christians throughout the world. This conference focuses on the distinctives of Calvin’s thoughts and how they are finding expression and appreciation in the church today, 500 years after his birth.

    You mean John Calvin of the “damnable doctrines of the five points of Calvinism?” A semi famous pastor uttered those words a while back. I’m being facetious here of course! LOL!

    Yes Scott. One in the same, there is no doubt. I think it’s funny that the first session is entitled, “Calvin’s kin: Why They’re Multiplying.”
